SUMMARY:Stand Ahead
DESCRIPTION:YOU’RE INVITED \nOn December 2nd\, the first-ever Women’s Brain Health Day\, take a stand\, and upend the way we view dementia and other brain-aging diseases that disproportionately affect women. Literally. \nDECEMBER 2ND | 12-1PM\nARTSCAPE DANIELS LAUNCHPAD\n130 Queens Quay East | #4th floor | Toronto\, ON M5A 0P6 \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us and take part in the Stand Ahead™ Challenge by doing a headstand*\, to stand up against research bias and stand ahead for women’s brain health\, challenging 2 others\, posting it and tagging #standahead\, and donating to Women’s Brain Health Initiative**. This global charity is solely dedicated to protecting the brain health of women with cutting edge research and preventative health education. \nTake a stand for the women in your life that you love….\nyour mom\, sister\, daughter\, wife\, or best friend. \n\n\n\n\nFirst 50 people to sign up and participate will receive a free Stand Ahead™ yoga mat with carry bag and a Stand Ahead™ or Mind Over Matter® t-shirt. \n\n\n\nFunds raised for sex-based research will be matched by Brain Canada! \nWho will you #standahead for? \nLight snack available. Limited Capacity. \n\n\nGrab your ticket:https://standahead.eventbrite.ca \n\n\n\nFor more information about the Stand Ahead™ Challenge\, please visit standahead.org. \n** Thanks for your generous support! \n*While headstand has the potential to provide wide-ranging benefits\, the pose is not suitable for everyone. For instance\, people with back or neck injuries\, high blood pressure\, stroke\, eye problems\, or a heart condition should not attempt the posture. Also\, people who experience migraines or balance issues might want to avoid headstand as it may aggravate those conditions. The pose should be avoided during pregnancy\, unless the woman already has a well-established headstand practice (in other words\, pregnancy is not the time to begin doing headstand).

SUMMARY:Engaging Millennial Minds: Young Caregivers - Taking Care of Your Parent or Grandparent
DESCRIPTION:Presents \nEngaging Millenial Minds \nYoung Caregivers – Taking Care of Your Parent or Grandparent \n\n\nOne in four young Canadians provide care to a family member or friend but taking on the role as a caregiver can interfere with life pursuits. Education and career development may be postponed\, and delays may be experienced in leaving the family home\, getting married\, and having children. Rates of caregiving are particularly high among young women. \nProviding care is not always restricted to helping one family member\, friend\, or neighbour. About one in four young caregivers provide care to two people\, while 19% provided care to three or more family members or friends. Ailing grandparents are the most frequent recipients of young caregivers’ help\, followed by parents\, and around one third help with age-related needs. Caregivers under 30 most often help with chores like meal preparation and cleaning\, transportation to and from appointments or shopping\, and house maintenance or outdoor work. But sometimes care includes paying the bills and personal grooming. \nThe additional potential costs of caring for a loved one include accidental injuries\, sleep problems\, depression and social isolation. Hear from a young caregiver on how she’s learned to cope\, and gain a better appreciation for how proper wealth planning can help ensure families are financially prepared for the future. \nEnjoy light refreshments\, and a chance to win fabulous door prizes. \nGUEST SPEAKERS: \n \nKathryn Fudurich\nCaregiver & Co-Founder Memory Ball \n \nKelly Rivard\nVice President and Will & Estate Consultant\,\nRBC Wealth Management Services \nEMCEE: \n \nMatteo Tino\nInvestment Counsellor\, RBC Wealth Management\,\nPH&N Investment Counsel \nTICKETS \nTickets: $35 | MEMBERS* $25 \nBUY TICKETS\n* Membership has its privileges!
